Boards, Commissions & Committees
The City of San Bruno has several Citizen Advisory Commissions, Boards and Committees, whose volunteer members are San Bruno residents appointed by the City Council. Members meet in the evening, once a month or less, serving staggered four-year terms that expire in October of every even year, at that time they may wish to seek re-appointment for another term.
Applications are accepted and encouraged at any time for any Commission, Board or Committee. Please submit a completed application by filling out an electronic application found at the bottom of this page, for any City Commission, Board or Committee. A notification of the completed application will automatically be sent to the City Clerk's Office and applicants will be notified regarding next steps in the process. Architectural Review Committee
3 volunteers from the Planning commission serve on the Architectural Review Committee to review and make recommendations on development project applications.

Bicycle & Pedestrian Advisory Committee
The Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee serves to provide comprehensive resident insight into bicycle and pedestrian issues.

Citizens Crime Prevention
The Citizens Crime Prevention assists the Police Department with community outreach efforts related to crime prevention and public safety awareness.

Citizens Revenue Measure Oversight Committee
The Citizen's Revenue Measure Oversight Committee was created to review the annual audit of the revenues generated by the local sales tax approved by the voters in the November 2019 election, and to make such recommendations to the City Council as it deems necessary or useful.

Emergency Preparedness
The Emergency Preparedness Committee promotes emergency preparedness planning and education to prepare residents to mitigate the potential consequences of natural and man-made disasters.

San Bruno Community Foundation
In April 2012, the City reached a settlement agreement with PG&E for $68.75 million and five vacant property lots valued at $1.25 million. This legally binding agreement specifies that a Not for Profit entity shall be established to manage the use of the funds for the benefit of the entire City and can not be used for general City operations.

Senior Citizens Advisory Board
The San Bruno Senior Citizens Advisory Board makes recommendations to the City Council regarding programs and activities for senior citizens, age fifty and over.

Successor Agency
The Successor Agency to the San Bruno Redevelopment Agency was created to administer the dissolution and wind-down of the former Redevelopment Agency (former RDA), which was dissolved by statute on February 1, 2012.

Traffic, Safety & Parking
The Traffic, Safety and Parking Committee (TSPC) acts in an advisory capacity and makes recommendations to City Council regarding traffic safety, parking, and local traffic issues. The City Council has the authority to approve, modify, or deny any of the TSPC's recommendations. The TSPC encourages public discussion and holds a public meeting every month to discuss issues brought up by the community.
