Wastewater treatment is handled under a Joint Powers Agreement with the City of South San Francisco. Approximately 3.4 million gallons of effluent per day are pumped from San Bruno through the Shaw Road Pump Station to be treated at the South San Francisco/San Bruno Water Quality Control Plant The treatment plant, which is located on Belle Air Road in the City of South San Francisco, just north of the San Francisco International Airport, is operated and maintained by the City of South San Francisco.
