The City of San Bruno is proud to be a part of the Bay Area Rapid Transit system. Opened on June 22, 2003, the BART station is situated next to the San Bruno Police station. The facility houses a large parking structure for daily, carpool, and long term airport parking. There are also 30 lockers for bicycle facilities.
The station is also close to various shopping areas, restaurants, a cinema and it is also connecting point to San Francisco Airport. Not only is it near to many places for entertainment, you can also use the public transportation service SamTrans, just outside the station, to travel throughout the city as well.

The City of San Bruno is fortunate to be part of a peninsula wide public transportation system. The San Mateo Transit system runs from parts of San Francisco all the way to Palo Alto. The main Route ECR running every 15 minutes on weekdays and 20 minutes on weekends. There are other routes which provide service throughout the community.

Not only does San Bruno have a great local as well as a Bay Area public transportation system, the City also has an affordable train station for those who commute to and from San Francisco and Silicon Valley and anywhere in between. Caltrain offers many stops from San Francisco to Tamien in the South Bay as well as commuter service all the way to Gilroy.
