The Third Thursday Bibliomaniacs Book of the Month is....

Ghostwalk Book ImageGhostwalk. The mysterious drowning death of Elizabeth Vogelsang, a Cambridge University scholar who was almost finished writing a controversial biography of Isaac Newton, leads her son, Cameron Brown, to recruit Lydia Brooke, his former lover, to complete the book. That request plunges Brooke into probing two ostensibly separate series of murders: one in the 17th century claimed the lives of several who stood between Newton and the fellowship he needed to continue his studies at Cambridge; the other in the present day appears to target those who have offended a radical animal rights group. Join the Bibliomaniacs to discuss this book on Thursday, October 16 at 7 PM in City Hall Room 113.

Adrienne Barbeau

Vampyres of Hollywood Book ImagePlease join us on Tuesday, November 18th at 7 PM (Room 115 in City Hall), when actress and author Adrienne Barbeau will discuss her new book Vampyres of Hollywood. Written with best-selling author Michael Scott (The Alchemyst), Vampyres is the story of Ovsanna Moore, one of many secret vampires in Hollywood who have made up vampire myths and spread them through horror movies to dupe humans and protect themselves. Suddenly finding herself a target for death, Ovsanna must find out who is killing those around her before it is too late. Publishers Weekly called Vampyres, “Briskly paced and full of fang-in-cheek humor. . .one of the more entertaining recent works of supernatural noir.” Author Cara Black says, “Behind-the-scenes-Hollywood, the A-List, the attitude and the undead, Vampyres of Hollywood has it all!” Adrienne Barbeau Headshot

Adrienne Barbeau is well-known for her role as Carol, the daughter on the 1970s sitcom Maude, as well as many movie roles, including The Fog, Swamp Thing, Creep Show, and Escape from New York.
