Bug

Thanks to everyone who participated in the “Catch The Reading Bug” summer reading program. What an awesome community of readers! Summer is a great time for kids to read for enjoyment - help them follow their interests! We are always happy to help your child find just the right book.

STORYTIME

Storytimes will continue during August and into the Fall.

Hora de Cuentos Bilingües / Bilingual Storytime
Martes a las 11 AM / Tuesdays at 11 AM
Programa interactivo de cuentos para hablantes de inglés, español o los dos. El programa es para todos los niños, pero es ideal para los de 2 hasta 4 años de edad. Interactive storytime for speakers of Spanish, English, or both. All ages are welcome but storytime is specifically geared to 2 - 4 year olds and kids are encouraged to participate.

Pajama Storytime:
Mondays at 7 PM for children 3 and up

Itsy-Bitsy Storytime:
Thursdays at 11 AM for children 18 months - 3 years

Once Upon a Time: Library Storytime on San Bruno Cable
Can’t get to the library for storytime? Now storytime can come to you! San Bruno Cable Channel 11 is airing “Once Upon a Time,” a children’s storytime featuring library staff. The air times are:

10 AM - Sunday, Monday, Friday, Saturday
1:30 PM - Tuesday, Thursday
2 PM - Monday, Wednesday, Friday
7 PM - Monday, Wednesday

September Saturday Storytimes. Mark your calendars! During the month of September we will have a family storytime every Saturday at 10:30 AM. Recommended for ages 3-8.

Sticklers 4 Your Stuff Craft
Thursday, August 7 at 3 PM
Personalize your cell phone, MP3 player, or other objects with these cool new sticklers and pens. We will also have stuff for you to decorate - CD suncatchers, tags, and keychains.

High School Pizza and Book Club @ 1PM
Come discuss some of the required reading titles from Capuchino. We will have one featured book and pool information on other titles. Please pre-register by calling the Library at (650) 616-7078 or by email.

Valentino Achak Deng, real-life hero of this engrossing epic, was a refugee from the Sudanese civil war-the bloodbath before the current Darfur bloodbath-of the 1980s and 90s. In this fictionalized memoir, Eggers makes him an icon of globalization. Join the Bibliomaniacs to discuss this book on Thursday, August 21 at 7 PM in City Hall Room 113.
Holiday Closure

Labor DayThe Library will be closed August 30 - September 1, Saturday - Monday, for the Labor Day holiday. Normal hours resume Tuesday, September 1.
